ASVAB Tutoring at U.S. Best Tutors

ASVAB tutoring is divided into multiple subjects: Math, English (Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension), and Science (Mechanical, Electrical and General Science). At U.S. Best Tutors you can sign up for one subject or for all subjects for simple rate of $400 for 8 hours of tutoring. Each session is two hours long. The sessions can be spread over one month duration or customized to two sessions a week. All lessons are in a very small groups of 2-3 students.

Many students take courses in Pre-Algebra, Algebra I  and Geometry before they start ASVAB Math test preparation.

ASVAB Math Topics: Arithmetic Reasoning and Mathematics Knowledge

• Arithmetic: Sets and numerical operations.
• Algebra I : Algebraic equations and inequalities; absolute functions, rational, radical and exponential equations; direct and inverse variation and linear functions.
• Geometry : Lines in parallel and perpendicular settings. Right triangles and special triangles (45,45,90 and 30,60,90). Coordinate geometry. Geometric shapes in 2D and 3D.
• Data Analysis and Probability: Plots, lines and graphs. Probabilities using card problems and counting problems. Descriptive Statistics.
• Mathematical Word Problems and analysis.

ASVAB: English (Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension):

• Identify main and supporting ideas
• Determine word meaning in context
• Understand authors’ purpose and opinions
• Understand structure and function of sentences
• Recognize sentence errors
• Effectively and insightfully develop a point of view
• Demonstrate critical thinking when clearly supporting position
• Create a well-organized and clearly focused essay that demonstrates clear coherence and smooth progression of ideas
• Exhibit skillful use of language/vocabulary

ASVAB:Science

• General Science: Topics cover concepts from life, earth and physical sciences
• Electrical: Electronics calculations and symbols
• Mechanical: Mechanical and physical concepts
• Auto and Shop: Automobiles tools and terminology.
• Assembly Object: Assembling presentation from the disassembled object.

ASVAB (AFQT Score):

• AFQT score from ASVAB is calculated from these sections only:

1. Arithmetic Reasoning
2. Word Knowledge
3. Paragraph Comprehension
4. Mathematics Knowledge

ASVAB (AFQT Score) is required to apply for jobs in:

Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Coast Guard
